Ahh! I've Just Been Bitten...by a lip balm

I know I am waaaaaaaaay late in jumping in on this bandwagon, but a month back I finally did, am boy am I glad I did!
Product: Revlon Just Bitten Kissables (lip balm/stain)
Packaging: On trend with all the other chubby pencil designs, the balms look like a giant crayon that you wind up from the bottom for  more product.
Pricing: Anywhere from $5-12 USD depending on location and availability
Colors: Colors range all the way from a soft nude to a deep red. I bought three: (top to bottom, left to right) Darling, Cherish and Honey
Finish/Texture: Go on like a balm, very moisturizing, with a slight frost (depends on color) and always glossy finish.
Overall: I love these, and I know I say that about most of the product reviews I post, but seriously my Kissable, especially Honey (on the far right), have become my morning routine staple. They go with everything, no mess, no fuss. DEFINITELY a must re-buy

I whip my foundation back and forth! Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation

Yup, I just referenced a ten year old's hit single...so sad. But what ev's let's get to the review :)
 Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation.
Packaging : The foundation comes in a cool sleek glass jar. Very similar to Chanel packaging. When you open it, there is a plastic cover to keep the foundation in place.
Product: Advertised as a light-weight formula that lasts 24 hours, this foundation is a wet mousse type of consistency. No, it is not the same as the dream mousse line by Maybelline or the spray foam foundation. Rather when you first look at it, it looks like the regular Colorstay that has been dumped in the jar
but when you touch it with a brush, you can see the wet foamy bubbles.

Pricing: $12-$16 depending on location and availability
Pros:
  • feel light weight
  • wear flawlessly throughout the day
  • long-lasting
  • need very little to get full coverage
Cons:
  • Very expensive for a drugstore foundation
  • sinks into pores/ cakes around blemishes
  • limited color selection
Overall: I really like this foundation. At first I wasn't too sure about what to make of this product. Is is liquid, is it mousse? I couldn't decide, but it felt great on my skin, not the same thickness as the regular Colorstay. My only problem however is that I felt I needed a primer because although it looked gorgeous on  my skin as the hours passed, it also sank into my pores and caked around dry patches and blemishes.
Would I buy it again? I think so, I mean I wouldn't wear on the days I have a breakout our problem skin, but I for long work days or a night out, it is great.

MASSIVE $255 MAKEUP HAUL!!!!

Oh dear lord, what have I done!!! Yes, you read right, my dumb butt just bought $255 worth of makeup. WHAT!!! But to save face, I swear it wasn't ALL my fault. The evil lady at ULTA, distracted me with her caked on makeup and spiderlashes and fooled me into buying stuff I didn't even need:)

I went in originally to buy some higher end products for my lovely mother. It's her birthday in a few days, and gosh darnit, the woman deserves some pretty products as well. However, I got selfish. Whoops. If you've been to ULTA then you know that they sell higher end products on one side and drugstore products on the other. So jee, hmmm where do you think I ended up? Yup!

I practically skipped to checkout line thinking I had done fairly well, but when the handsome man behind the counter said " That will be $255" I literally passed out. Seriously, my evil sister who I only see every other month and had egged me on to buying half the stuff, literally had to grab my hand, cause I was seeing stars before my eyes.

Sighhh......so what does one get with that much money? Not much.

Ladies, ladies, ladies. Luckily ULTA has a really good return policy, because there is no way I could live with myself if I spent 1/3 of my rent money on MAKEUP! I mean I love cosmetics, but I love a roof above my head more :) And, yes some of you may be thinking, why didn't I just return some products then? Well, soorrry,I got I selfish again. I thought it would make for some reviews, so be prepared :)

Confessions of a Nail Polish Junkie

Sigh. I've hit an all time low. I went to Walgreen's to get a replacement foundation, and ended up with 5 new nail polishes! You might be saying what's the big deal, its only 5, well if you knew I already had 92 (not including the 15 I gave my sister) you might have a different answer.

So this obsession started with a navy blue polish from N.Y.C for $0.99. I thought I was the shiz nitz rocking blue nails! Shoot I flashed my hands whenever I could. Eventually, I got tired of the blues and thought, hmmm let me try this color then that color and oh that looks nice then.....argghh shake my head in shame.
But ladies it doesn't just stop there. GLITTER! GLITTER is my downfall. If it sparkles and I can paint it on my nails, then trust when I say I got it. Shoot, my  glitter obsession got so bad last summer that I binged on eBay and bought a 24 pack of glitter dust from China just so I can just dunk my nails in them.
Yup...I'm obsessed.

This week I will be sharing with you guys some of my favorite brands, colors and designs :) I hope you all enjoy.

Review: Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Okie dokie, so I got bored this weekend so I went through my piles and piles of makeup to see which ones would be worth talking about. After digging through my mascaras, I came upon this green mascara and at first I was like "What the..?" and then it hit me "ooohhhh yeeeahh, that one!"

This is the Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. It is advertised the first Revlon mascara that helps lashes grow stronger while visibly adding length and volume.

Product: duh...its a mascara :) Basic tube and wand. The wand has elongated, conical shaped synthetic fibers that help add volume and legnth to the lashes.

Pricing: $4-$7 USD depending on location and availability

Overall: This mascara was okay, and I think that is why I forgot about it. I've been re-using this mascara for the past week and while it doesn't give my lashes that dramatic flare that I like, I do appeciate the subtle "naturally pretty lashes" look that it gives me. The wand is ridiculously long and it it longer then my eye, but I think that is what helps coat all the littlle lashes I have on my outter edge, giving me a lovely elongated flared look. As far as helping my lashes grow  stronger, ennngghhh, not so sure, but my lashes do look softer with this product on versus other mascaras.

This picture was taken after a 16 hour work day, and my lashes are still slightly flared at the ends.I would recommend this mascara for those looking for a "natural" but flared kind of look.
